Mental Health Counselor – License-Eligible
Full-Time, In-Person

At Like a Phoenix, we believe in Rising From The Aches. We are a growing practice in Woburn offering counseling, psychological assessment, substance use evaluations, DBT groups and behavior analysis.

We serve children, adolescents, adults, couples and families from many backgrounds. Our care is compassionate, nonjudgmental and strengths-based, and we see every client as a whole person, not a
diagnosis.

We are looking for a full-time, license-eligible Mental Health Counselor to see clients in person at our Woburn office. This role is a good fit for a recent master's graduate who is building clinical hours toward licensure, and we provide the clinical supervision you need to get there.

The expected caseload is 25 client sessions per week.

You will work with individuals, couples and families, and collaborate closely with our assessment and behavior analysis team so clients get coordinated, well-rounded care.

• See 25 clients per week for individual, couple and family therapy, using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, person-centered and trauma-informed care

• Complete intake assessments, write treatment plans and keep accurate, timely clinical documentation

​

• Work with clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism, life transitions and other concerns

​

• Coordinate care with our psychologists, evaluators and outside providers when appropriate

​

• Take part in case consultation and clinical supervision

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy or a related field

• License-eligible in Massachusetts and working toward LMHC, LICSW or LMFT licensure

​

• Solid knowledge of DSM-5-TR and evidence-based treatment

​

• A warm, culturally responsive and nonjudgmental approach

​

• Strong organization and documentation skills

​

• A plus: experience with children and adolescents, DBT training, or a second language. Our team currently works in English, French, Arabic, German, Moroccan Darija and Haitian Creole.

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy or a related field
